An Elephant Never Forgets....

Oopsy! It slipped my mind that I actually started a blog a couple of months ago. My apologies! :)

Since my last post a lot has happened. This past May I took a P.E. class that was mandatory (I've been putting it off for a couple of years now). Our wonderful teacher made us run at every meeting (blah). But I have kept it up for 3 whole months so far, YAY ME! I also purchased some new kicks, which I love. Nike Free-Run+ are the best workout/running shoe ever; however, the shoes do not have a "tongue". If you're not into that, you'll probably hate them.

I also started my journey in the education program at Emmanuel College a couple of weeks ago, which I love! Only three more semesters to go until I will be a certified Elementary School teacher, yippee!! Matt took a job at East Jackson High School in Commerce where he is now a co-teacher for Economics and U.S. History. I'm glad he can put up with rude 11th and 12th graders because I sure couldn't. :-) He is also head JV basketball, assistant varsity basketball, and cross country coach; in other words I never see him. However, it is a great opportunity! It will be hard staying neutral through basketball season, though. Matt will be coached against his baby brother, and it is his senior year playing! A lot of other exciting things are going on, my friend Sommer got hitched :) a couple of weekends ago, my little cousin Emaleigh's writing got chosen to be published, and my sweet cousin Nikki is getting married in a little over a month. AHHH, so many wonderful things are happening! Arrivederci (for now), blog world!

Basketball here, basketball there, basketball basketball EVERYWHERE!!!

I haven't really been too sporty at any time in my life. My dad doesn't watch too many sports and I don't have any brothers. Don't get me wrong, I'm not totally dumb when it comes to sports. I understand the game, I've just never been into it.

So here I am now, dropped right into Matt's family who live and BREATH sports! You name it, they like it and on all levels-- basketball, golf, football, baseball, softball. Now, I can honestly say that everything is growing on me. If I had to pick, watching basketball is now my favorite! I've even picked up on some of the "terms" or basketball talk!! YAY ME! To explain the title of this post, let me let you in on my weekly schedule. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights are basketball nights. Matt is playing in a men's league in Anderson, SC on Monday and Wednesday nights and I am trying to be a supportive girlfriend. Matt's youngest brother, John, plays high school basketball and has games on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday nights. I can't help but like it and I better get used to it!! But tonight will be filled with reading and studying for me. So I'll leave you with a video that always puts a smile on my face...

For Starters...

I've never thought of myself as a blogger... BUT I have been semi-suckered-in by one of my very good friends (you know who you are!) to create one of these things, so here it goes! I'm not really sure how the "blogging" world works or who will be reading this and so on, so I'll start off by explaining the title of my page. I've found out in the past couple of years the way to take on life is "One day at a time". People will come and go and your situation will change in the blink of an eye. So, by saying that... trust in the Lord, do the impossible, predict the unpredictable, don't stress, smile ALWAYS and live your life "One day at a time"! Until the next time blogging world... adios! :-)
